The Tree of Lights is our major annual fundraising campaign and has been for over 33 years. She joined the Virginia Gay wound care team in early 2025 and brings up-to-date training and a deep understanding of best practices in treating chronic wounds, ulcers and other skin complications.

The family created The DAISY Award to express gratitude to nurses and to enable other patients, families, and staff to thank and honor their special nurses.

Amanda works in VG Nursing & Rehab, and her dedication, perseverance, and hard work have truly paid off. Brandi began her healthcare career as a CNA at Virginia Gay Nursing & Rehab (2004–2006) and has been part of the Virginia Gay Hospital team since 2009, delivering expert wound care with warmth and empathy.

Ivy Huber, BSN, CWOCN

Ivy graduated from the University of Iowa in 2015 with a BSN and earned her Certified Wound Ostomy and Continence Nurse (CWOCN) certification in 2021 through WebWOC.

She shared how grateful she is for Virginia Gay Hospital and staff and the incredible support she received throughout her journey, especially the kindness, understanding, and encouragement from her coworkers while balancing work and school.

Amanda was also able to take advantage of the VGH Tuition Reimbursement Program, which helped cover her tuition as she worked toward this major milestone.

We are so proud of all that Amanda has accomplished and excited for the positive impact she will continue to make in the lives of our patients and residents.

People have the opportunity to purchase various lights or ornaments in memory of or in honor of anyone of their choosing.
